It’s Valentine’s Day this coming week, so it’s all about hearts at the moment. I started out this card by playing around with a new hart background stamp I had bought by Impression Obsession. After having stamped it in pink ink on another piece of cardstock, I stamped with Versamark ink for this piece and then clear heat embossed it. I hadn’t cleaned off the stamp perfectly, so that some of the embossing appears pink. I really like this and will definately try to recreate it on a future project.
Using pumice stone and pink rasberry distress inks and a lot of water, I went on to drop some colour onto the embossing with a paintbrush. After drying it, I cut the panel to size, using the Avery Elle wonky stitched rectangle die.
Next I die cut the big heart from white cardstock with a Sizzix Bigz die. I ink blended some abandoned coral and more of the picked rasberry distress ink onto it. After spritzing it with water and lifting the colour off, I repeated the blending and spritzing until I was happy with the result. Then I added some Nuvo drops to go with the water droplet look.
I cut the white and Kraft banners with Simon Says Stamp dies. The sentiment is stamped in Versamark and heat embossed in white. After layering the the pieces on my panel, I added the vellum heart border and some more Nuvo drops. Then I matted the panel on more of the Kraft cardstock and mounted it onto a pale pink cardbase. This look really lovely when you stand the card up.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
