Paper Heart

Today I have another guest design card for Challenge Up you Life. Of course, we’re nearing Valentines Day, so the challenge is to create a card with hearts. I decided to make a card that lives of the papers used with some added shimmer and shine.

I cut the heart using a Sizzix Bigz die from crumpled white cardstock and set a copper eyelet at the top.

Next I took some wood paper and added some shimmer with a mix of perfect pearls, a touch of silver glitter and clear embossing powder. I poured this over some areas I had covered in versamark ink and then melted it. Quite the experiment, but I love the result! On top of that I also smeared some copper glitter glue.

I added some thread through the eyelet, before adhering the heart onto this panel. I pulled the thred tight and put a strip of washi tape on in to keep it in place. Finally, I decided where to put my sentiment, which is from a Lawn Fawn stamp set. I heat embossed this in white to match the heart.

The card base I created out of some beautiful silver and white specialty paper. I sandwiched a piece of craft foam between the panel and the card base for some added interest and diemsion.

As a finishing touch, I added more sparkle and shine by randomly placing some Pretty Pink Posh clear sparkling sequins. To capture the shine I also took a picture with the light on.
