Spritz and Spray

Spritz and Spray says Simon for the SimonSaysStamp.com Monday Challenge, so I did. Wanting the theme to be prominent on the card, I used my spray in a way I hadn’t before in cardmaking. As I made do Without Patterned Paper, I’m also entering this for Challenge Up Your Life.

To start off with, I added a couple of spritzes of mermaid lagoon Distress Spray to a piece of white cardstock. I tilted this a little, to make some run downwards. Then I dabbed the rest off with a paper towel. After drying it with my heat tool, I put it through my Bigshot in a Sizzix flower embossing folder by Stephanie Ackerman. I like the doodled look of those flowers on the spray. A hint of graffiti maybe? The embossing folder also comes with a beautiful stamp. I’m sure I will feature it in a future post!

Next I die cut the scribble, the “smile” and the flower and layered those over the embossing.  I matted this on the same purple cardstock, I cut the scribble from. After rounding the top right corners, I used foamtape for to adhere it, to achieve dimension. Then I added the panel to my card base.

Finally, I needed something to guide the eye across the card, so I went with sequins for this.
