Merry 2018

Layoutout plan and materials used on the Merry 2018 card. This card is totally inspired by the current Timeout Challenge: New Beginnings with the optional twist of using a Christmas Stamps on a non Christmas card. But why use just one Christmas stamp, when I have so many, right?

So I created a sketch and knew I wanted to do some no line colouring. Out came my Inktense pencils and Distress ink for the outline stamping. I just used some typing paper to cut my masks. I actually used stamps from five different stamp sets on this card, but most of the main images are by My Favourite Things.

I decided to not go too bright in my colouring, as I wanted the gold embossed 2018 and the sparkles above the glasses to really stand out.

After the colouring, I did first the heat embossing and the dry embossed fireworks, to add a little something at the top. I matted the finished panel on some beautiful gold specialty paper from my local craft store and adherd it off centre on tall side folding card base made of the same paper used for my panel. I am really, really happy with the result!
