Yesterday I stumbled upon the Tag You’re It challenge blog and took a liking to it. I alway enjoy looking at tags on Pinterest and have devoted a board to it there. Of course, for me it has to end up on a card and it took me a while to figure out how to best design the layout. But now I’m quite happy with the result. So here comes my tag card.
I started off by creating the card casing the design on the Tag You’re it website. I took out my folder with coffee themed materials and ended up using the Sizzix embossing folder on kraft paper which I had inked with splashes through a stencil. I stamped the Tim Holtz blueprint coffee mug on it and copic coloured some of the embossed coffee beans.
Next I created some mixed media paper in bright greens and brown to stamp the mug on twice. One of them I coloured in and cut out. I used distress ink for this and added some sparkle to the coffee. The other I cut out with a stiched circle die. I also stamped on and die cut the sentiment from this and cut the circle enforcer for the tag hole. The circle and the sentiment rectangle I cut again from green kraft foam. When arranging all this on my tag, I felt the need for a vellum circle to mat the other one on. Then I adhered all the pieces together. I love the dimension of the tag. The green matting under the tag and the bright green ribbon finish it off.
For my card, I decided to repeat the elements of the tag: The circle with stenciling, going with similar colours and using the green matting. I wanted to add a touch of sparkle. This I did, by covering the mug with Glossy Accents. Lastly, I adhered some coffee coloured sequins with glue dots. I love all the dimension on this card.
I’m adding this tag in the following challenge:
