I wanted to create a colourful happy spring card with dies from Charlie and Paulchen. For this, I started out with watercolour paper on which I blended Distress Inks in a rainbow order. Then I sprayed it with water from some distance, heated it and dabbed off the rest. Then I aligned the three dies right next to each other on my rainbow colouring and put them through my Bigshot.
Next, I cut the three circle windows in my card front and adhered the die cuts behind those. After inking up the lower portion of the card base very lightly in green, I glued the card front onto my card base. Both are from the same paper with a lovely subtle lined texture. The green helps the circles to show up more. The Happy Easter sentiment is also from Charlie und Paulchen and cut from darker blue thick cardstock.
When standing in front of a sunny window, the circles light up, which is a lovely unexpected result. I might try this with some vellum behind them in the future…
I am entering this card in the following challenges:
When it rains look for rainbows, when it’s dark look for stars
