Be Thankful

I’m loving playing with my distress inks at the moment. For this card I used a stamp from Tim Holtz Thankful Silhouettes for Stampers Anonymous. Using various autumn colours of distress inks, I repeatedly stamped the same leaf. I then used a waterbrush to get a watercolour look. I filled in the blanks with a new colour of distress ink. Once dry I splattered on some water and removed this with a clean paper towel. Finally I splattered on a few drops of Picket Fence Distress spray.autumn card using distress inks and Tim Holtz stampsautumn card using distress inks and Tim Holtz stampsHaving finished the the watercolour piece, I cut a stitched rectangle panel using my bigshot. On this I stamped the acorn from the same stamp set in versamark and heat embossed it in white. I added a stitched swirl behind the acorn to make it seem to be falling.

The sentiment I created from the Tim Holtz Acorn Blueprint.  I heat embossed the sentiment and the border on some red cardstock. This I cut out using the matching die. It seemed a little lost on my panel, so I added a piece of vellum behind the cardstock and cut it to size. Then I adhered it flat onto the card.

I sandwiched a piece of orange craft foam between the panel and the cardbase. This was needed as the paper was slightly warped due to the use of water. But it is also a nice touch when viewing the card from the side.

I’m entering the card in the following challenges:

Addicted to CAS: Challenge #97 – Stitch

Using red, range, yellow and/or brown

  1. Beautiful, love the soft watercolours and such a lovely technique. Thanks so much for joining in at Uniko and my apologies for popping by so late to comment. Hugs Bev x
