My head is still teeming with ideas for summer themed coffee cards, so I couldn’t resist to make another for the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.
I started out with the coffee cup, stamping hibiscus florals in Distress Oxide Ink in fired brick, also using it to sponge up the edges and colour the lid. Next I cut all the other pieces, also colouring them in, adding spiced marmelade as well. The coffee sleeve I inked slightly with a mix of orange and white.
For my panel, I stenciled on the palm trees in the Oxide walnut stain. I ink blended some salty ocean of the normal Distress Inks over it. Then sprayed with water and removing the excess, adding more blue and repeating until I achived a washed out look. I love how the Oxide ink retains the crisp image of the palm trees.
I made the pieces sturdier, by making double layers. Then I assembled all the pieces on the panel, which I glued to a pastel yellow card base. This gives a lovely sunny feel to the card in real life, which I couldn’t capture on a photo.
All in all lots of summer feeling cheering me up on this grey rainy day in Germany.
I am entering this card in the following challenge:
